Epic College of Technology’s Module 1 – Fundamentals of Trading offers an in-depth introduction to the core principles of financial markets, designed for beginners and aspiring traders who want to understand how professional trading truly works.
This module provides a strong foundation in types of financial markets, ways of trading, understanding market structure, price action, candlesticks, liquidity, and introduces trading psychology. Students will learn how to read charts, understand liquidity, and recognize the market behaviours and movements which can aid in understanding where markets want to go in the future. From analyzing candlestick behavior to grasping institutional concepts like Smart Money Theory (SMC), this course sets the groundwork for consistent and logical market analysis.
Students will also explore how major financial instruments — including Forex, Indices, Commodities, and Cryptocurrency — are traded and influenced by news events. Through case-based discussions and guided examples, learners will develop the ability to identify market trends, interpret market behaviour, understand price action, and anticipate potential price movements with confidence to place trades.
By the end of Module 1, students will possess the essential skills to understand how and why prices move, differentiate between retail and institutional trading behavior, and prepare for advanced technical applications covered in Module 2.
